Nonsense

You keep making this assertion, but I've seen you present nothing credible to back it up.

Most of the protestors I've spoken with are opposed to President Bush's policies, especially vis-a-vis Iraq, but I've heard no hateful sentiments directed toward the man. Contrast that fact, if you would, with what we heard coming from you and your cohorts during President Clinton's two terms of office.

What is more, this article is a joke. The author's credibility flies right out the window when he writes: "The broad British view of George Bush is that he is Ronald Reagan without the brains."

Right. Ronald Reagan. The same Ronald Reagan whom Margaret Thatcher described this way: "The poor dear; he's got nothing between the ears," and whom one member of his administration characterized as being "an amiable dunce."

Well, I'll grant you that Mr. Reagan was amiable, and it is true that he took a lot of flak from the Dems for his frequent gaffes, but nothing like the hateful vitriol which spewed from the minds, mouths and pens of the Republicans, directed at President Clinton and his First Lady.

Finally, to sum up and put it into clear English for you: the anti-war movement is motivated not by hatred of President Bush, but by a hatred for war and the slaughter of innocents in the name of a cause that most of us find unconvincing.

That's what it's about.
