To say that the Guardian didn't want to put the best light on the situation is putting it mildly. Ah, well.
When we win, it will have suddenly been EVERYONE'S idea. France for one will jump in front of the parade when the work is done. "Victory has a thousand fathers, but defeat is an orphan." I think Kennedy said that, but I bet it's a lot older than that.
