Scott is right
Our current American farm system is a complete dog's breakfast of subsidies, regulations, land rights, water rights and what have you. And much of it I wouldn't even know where to start to try and peel the industry loose and put it into the private sector. Frankly, I don't think even the Republicans are interested in returning farming to the free market any more.
