How pitiful.
The UN vision is failed, and not from lack of support from the western liberal democracies.
It is failed because it confuses equal and equivalent.
Because it has apdopted the third world stench of pervasive corruption.
It is failed because the enemies of the west, who are often beneficiaries of the west, have set out to wreck the UN as a way of weakening the west.
Bush called it right: the UN in dealing with Iraq ahs the opportunity to show it is more than a building in New York that allows corrupt countries to send high ranking insiders to party in Manhattan night clubs.
Will it rise to the opportunity?
It seems very doubtful at this time.
