The North Koreans are an old wound and the legacy of Truman.
However, there the government is the one that is up against the wall - no one mentions this...but there is great fear of an uprising and coup in the land of darkness. By painting America as an enemy - they hope to blackmail America into sending oil and other goodies that will keep the leadership from being overthrown.
Bush knows what he's doing. He's so much more aware of what's going on in the world now than Clinton was - it's not even funny. Bush doesn't deserve all the credit though Bush's foreign affairs team(s) makes Clinton's team look like they were Kindergarteners preparing for an SAT exam.
North Korea is in good hands. Our friends in China and Russia have even a greater vested interest than we do to keep North Korea from self-destructing.
