Gee, a group of terrorists is attempting to systematically kill off the Kurdish leadership that is allied with the Western forces and would take part in any new Iraqi government. I don't know WHERE the heck I would have gotten the idea that the current government of Iraq might be supporting them.

Do I have it in writing in Saddam's own hand? No. Saddam says there is no such connection, and if you take that as gospel, I'm not sure where else I can go with the argument. I could list references to Saddam's murder of Abu Nidal, or other possible links, but what would be the point? The standard of proof demanded by the anti-war faction is currently as high as that for weapons of mass destruction, i.e. unless Saddam is filmed in the presence of U.N. witnesses actually assembling a plutonium bomb core with his own hands, no one will believe it. Hell, probably not even then.

But as Thoreau once said, "Some circumstantial evidence is very strong, as when you find a trout in the milk." (a phrase lost on most people who aren't familiar with the old sneaky practice of watering milk.)

Geez, I wish the Left would apply this level of proof to the global warming issue.
