A pretty good theory on why we're going to war.

I caught this last theory week on a cable news channel (I forget which one) about why we're going after Saddam. He stated that Saddam wasn't even an issue until last April when Bush met with Prince Abdullah at his ranch in Crawford, Texas.

The theory goes this way; Most of the Islamic militants are peeved at the US because we have troops stationed in Arabia, which is holy ground and is considered to be off limits to non Muslims. These troops are there to help protect The Saudis and Kuwait from Saddam. Prince Abdullah tells Bush that the American presence is causing a great deal of turmoil in his country and is allowing Osama and pals to recruit increasing numbers of young people within the kingdom. It is then suggested that should Saddam be forced out, there would no longer be a need for US forces to remain in the region, thus undercutting a major argument of the Islamists and thus greatly hurting their cause.

I'm not sure about all of the facts that the gentleman recited, but it does make for an interesting idea.
