And finally...
"That guy is evil"
Meaning I am good...

Well, we know we were not "good" in the past, we know our democracies are not perfect and are constantly evolving.
We can't impose our way of life to anybody; the others must find for themselves what is interesting or not, in us.
But good and evil? Old fashioned values.
***********

I think not, decidedly not.
The cultural inability to recognize pure evil in the 911 attacks and worse yet in the evil religious philosophy driving them is not surprising in some cultures. Cultures that had problems recognizing the evil of Nazi Germany before its expansion outside its borders and afterwards during the Holocost phase. Or the pure evil of Stalin's regime where 20 million or so Russians died. Or the evil Pol Pot regime where only several milllion were executed. Saddam's ~1 million Iraquis killed is admitedly small scale compared to the big boys but that's because he has yet to be able to deploy the evil weapons of mass destruction that he has lusted after.

Evil may well be too readily used in ordinary speech but it's apt to characterize radical Islamists and their abettors.
They want to kill, enslave and rape Westerners and destroy Western society. They have been doing what they're preaching.
