I can read a hell of a lot into that statement. Or not. What I am NOT seeing right now that I saw when Trent Lott slipped his tongue: the press talking about nothing else for weeks, and thousands of media people dragging the bottom for every single quote that the politician ever made that might make him look worse.

I'm making a point about hypocrisy, not about the statement itself.
