It's likely that one Israeli submarine is always lurking somewhere off of the French coast for a fast strike for good measure. ( The other ones are probably lurking in the Persian gulf with the capitals of the various regional nations in the targeting computers.)

Chirac, Schroeder and Co. kissing Saddam's derriere will have serious consequences besides economic ones. It illustrates a fundamental lack of trustworthiness, and not really the sort of governments we want as "allies."
With the the French government's recent behavior it would be hard to know how an "enemy" could behave any worse!

It's really sad. But even my German relatives are sick of the state of the politics of France and Germany and have sold their real estate holdings in southern France, in protest. (now that is a protest!) They realize the US is one of the best things to happen to both Germany and France in their long history and has been it's truest friend for over fifty years.

It's all rather saddening that Saddam's money funnel into France and Germany is worth all this dissension. Saddam, literally, has apparently bought off our two "former" allies.
