"Looking forward to it. Honestly. If anyone can come up with something real, you could probably do it"

While flattering, I'm not sure I'm as confident as you...

"My take on it is that things will be better...not perfect, and not "solved," but better...after Saddam is taken out."

Yep. I actually did not take a stance on the war for a looong time. As I told RobVG, the longer I waited the less convincing stuff I heard out of washington, and I was eventually left saying: "This is it? This is our reason"

Now, the painful thing is that the sanctions are KILLING the Iraqis, and the continued oppression from Saddam is KILLING the Iraqis, and I know war MIGHT make it better. So Its hard for me to argue against a war sometimes. As satisfying as it will be to see saddam eat a bullet, I know this isn't worth the damage we are doing. I think that while Iraq will improve, America and the world will be worse off.

"The point that is not being addressed in many of these debates is that just sitting back and doing nothing, or doing something ineffective, can have deadly consequences too. "

Yep. If we stood in my metaphorical room of gasoline, we would both die as surely as if we went with the Zippo plan.
