Sorry about that...

My computer is getting a little old and doing strange things. All by itself, it decided to post that last message while I was still typing it in.

Anyway, were was I:

Brosz sums it up when he says "pretty good even if it's all made up". I had an earlier opinion that Debka File was some sort of Agit-Prop subcontractor for Mossad. I stopped accessing that website because I wasn't interested in being lied to by pros. However I must confess that the business of Turkey's relationship with the U.S. and the curious process surrounding that vote of the Turkish parliament lead me to return to Debka File for answers. I still believe that most of what comes out of Debka File is baloney. IMHO if Debka File is getting stuff from Mossad, it's probably very informal, e.g. backyard gossip with a neighbor who's brother-in-law works for Mossad.

Amongst the various village idiots who plague the Habitable Zone, we have one who likes to dream up plausible nonsense and then present his fantasies as "facts". If someone challenges him, our village idiot will sometimes go though the exercise of referencing unrelated websites to back up his story. Our villiage idiot does this because he has a serious mental problem. I now believe that Debka File is doing more or less the same thing. However the guys at Debka File are anything but nuts. Debka File does know a great deal about the Middle East and is quite capable of constructing very elaborate and highly believable stories (stories as in fairy tales). They've done this to attract Internet hits and increase revenue from advertising. There is some slight value in reading Debka File in that it allows one to "look outside of the box". However one should always remember that Debka File's "scoops" are merely plausable conjectures misrepresented as insider facts. On occasion Debka File will reveal something new but this is due to the law of averages and not because of some special prescience.
