1) we will start the war before the 48 hours is up

2) we will be around Baghdad within 48 hours

3) Air Strikes will cover our forces all the way to Baghdad and we will meet no serious resistance.

4)Turkey will race to pass a resolution within 36 hours (They know we are planning to protect the Kurds from them and give them little say in an autonomous Kurd region)

5) The shootout in Baghdad will be intense with airstrikes called in frequently to blast pockets of strong resistance However the republican guards will fold after roughly 80 hours of such targeted bombardment

6) Saddam will have flown the coop leaving Uday behind to command

7) One of the sons will be captured

8) One of the sons will get away

9) Iraqi's will be celebrating in the streets of Baghdad within two weeks of an invasion.

10) Saddam will launch chemical weapons filled scuds at:
a) Tel Aviv
b) Kuwait City
c) Kurd encampments
d) Riyadh

11) However if 10 occurs only one of the weapons will not be intercepted by the Patriot 2 and will cause casualties in the 5,000-15,000 range.

12) The oil fields in the very center of Iraq burn for weeks but the northern wells are spared. Five to ten of the southern wells are successfully ignited.

13) Saddam's very advanced nuclear weapons program is discovered in huge underground bunkers just north of Baghdad.

That's about all I'm willing to predict now. I'll have to go into yet several more parallel time-streams and visualize other alternate outcomes to see which elements are common to all. The depressing thing is the oil fields in the center in all time-streams I have thus explored always get burned and the smoke and fire in each of these streams sends refugees between 300,000 to 800,000 into Jordan. The media in all these time streams always show the fires, smoke and suffering refugees and try and paint it as a humanitarian disaster.

I went into one of the rare time streams where Gore was President - and there is no September 11, 2001. However, in some weird bit of irony March 19th, 2003 - a nuclear weapon is detonated in western Iraq and Iraq declares itself a nuclear power and demands sanctions be lifted and no-fly zones be immediately removed.

One freakish time-stream had a white-haired President I didn't know at all and the United States of America was called the Union Collective Body of Earth (U.C.B.E.) The air had a stench from runaway pollution and the flags were all red with two interlocked rings and a star in the center of each (they looked to me like handcuffs.)

I did a little research in the District 987 Collective Library (there was no internet!!) and found that in that timeline Russia had raced into Germany and Berlin first, had absorbed all the rocket guys and conquered europe by 1960 and with accurate long range missiles to deliver atomic bombs could first strike the US in 1967 without us being able to strike back effectively. In that timeline Nixon is elected in 1960 and was finishing his second term when the bombs hit.

Creepy.

You would almost think our Bush is so certain and knew of Iraq's nuclear program by sending folks through other timestreams.
