Some points that seem clear
1) We telegraphed our intentions far too long and too clearly.
2) We were complacent regarding the baathist version of the gestapo going out and strengthening the regular troops and applying initiative against us
and we have given them too many insights into our strategies
3) saddam may have had time to basically scrub away easy evidence of his WMDs, as is shown in the cleaned out chem plant.
4) Our 'friends' in Europe and Russia are actively working to thwart us in this war in an on going effort.
5) It is still not at all clear saddam is alive.
