if Iraqi soldiers are pretending to be civilians...Isn't this a war crime?
Couldn't they be subject to war crimes trials, and if the practice becomes widespread enough, couldn't they even be subject to summary justice (executed on the battlefield as spies?)
Not exactly something I think we want being shown on CNN or Al Jazzerra, but wouldn't this be within the leagal bounds of war?
I've always thought that the rules concerning this practice are set up to be particularly harsh because the goal of the Geneva Conventions was first and formost to protect civilian non-combatants.
