Tell ya what. I will post < a href =http://www.habitablezone.com/currentevents/messages/45201.html>; this at the end of April, May and June. Lets see how many of these possibilities play out. The more I look, the more I think this administration bought its own propaganda. I don't think we will win the hearts-and-minds of the Iraqi people, I don't think we even had a chance. I think this administration had itself convinced of a myth that was disparate from reality. When I first wrote what I wrote, I wasn't so sure. I spent the evening looking further into this, and I think its right.

God save our soldiers if this degenerates into a hellhole of welfare supported snipers with GI's on every street corner.

And what will happen here, on this board and elsewhere? Are the 'anti american anti-war people' going to be blamed here for this mistake? Will we own up and pull out or are we going to carry this out to the bitter end? Will this end in bitter social recriminations for decades to come?

I don't know for sure, but I am starting to get concerned that we may have graduated an unjustified but short war into a long and bloody occupation.
