It will not, however, be 100%. Even in secure America, criminals find ways to circumvent supply lines.
The spearhead was swift, with reenforcements bringing up the rear in tactical wave-formation. Supplies are, btw, reaching our folks at Baghdad. Supplies are getting through. The supply lines are hindered a strategic points, a hinderence which, I believe, included a few US fatalities securing a bridge yesterday, but the line remains intact. As these other waves of coalition forces move in, the security will improve.
As for which is more important, the spearhead will always win the wager. Sacrifices are to be expected, but the main push is to take out Baghdad. That is #1 priority, and we are there. Supplies will eventually arrive, and we'll soon see an impenitrable barrier (well supplied) surrounding the capital city. It may degrade into siege warfare, but I doubt this could last more than a week.
