I've sent greetings to troops on a few ocassions, granted not in the last couple of months.
As for going over there myself, I wouldn't last 30 seconds...too old anyway. But it would be fascinating to witness things for oneself.
My wife ruminates now and then about joining up. Though she's now a programmer, she thinks she'd most likely end up using her nursing skills. The prospect scares me, frankly, but of course I'd support her every step of the way if it actually happened (less likely, I think, with every passing year).
