Iraqis living in Baghdad cannot sleep because of the constant noise of bombardment; they are scared to death. They fear for their loved ones living a few 100 meters away, they might not have electricity or water and don't have news unless their radio runs with batteries.
They are living a nightmare.
Chances are very high they don't consider bombers as liberators. In that case, they rely on the only authority they're aware of....Saddam.
My father and all those of his generation and older, remember what it was like to be underneath falling bombs. And, inspite of the occupation, the bombings and the liberation, they always had water and electricity.
