Would like to see that myself...

Maybe he has something, or maybe Straw isn't as up to speed on developments as we are.

As mentioned in this thread, the evidence IMO seems to point to a U.S. antiradar missile.

I was not impressed by the chunk of metal with the serial numbers, which could easily been planted. We have been firing HARMs into radar facilities in the no-fly zone for years, and Iraq probably had barrels of such fragments.

However, people who know about such things (see the links in the thread) describe the HARM as a shrapnel device, and the many shrapnel injuries and the shallow crater (NOT typical of conventional bombs) matches a HARM detonation quite well.

An objective metallurgical analysis of the shrapnel would be a clincher, but no objective analysis is likely.

Granted, this still does not rule out a hoax, but a complete simulation (a bomb full of shrapnel, and planting the fragment) would require someone very knowledgable in such weapons. Another hoax scenario, decoying a HARM into the marketplace by planting an emission source, would be much easier (such devices have been illegally imported into Iraq) and make the evidence that much more damning.

I'm keeping the story open...
