NK has massive forces arrayed 50 miles from the political, population, and cultural heart of an ally. One false step and say goodbye to an ally. 12 years of sanction have put Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf allies in much more relative safety.
It's also about strategy not just morality.
