CNN reports Chirac starting to face a backlash. Could it be the French dislike being the butt of American jokes and being dissed by even their Cajun relatives in New Orleans? Or is it simply a matter of waking from an exhilerating splurge on the world stage just to find you blew a wad of political capital in a gamble you lost.
