Re: Did NPR fire him?

I'm sorry but NPR (and CPB) has GOT to be responsible for the actions and policies of the individual stations that they funnel taxpayer dollars down to.

A violation of policy?

This is exactly what "policy" the station manager claims the guy violated:

"We have a policy that eliminates or restricts the expression of personal opinion on issues of controversy..."

What???

What kind of policy is THAT, to be receiving federal funding for? How can NPR allow one of it's stations to carry a policy like that, when the very Congressional act that CREATED them specificly says their purpose is to provide "programming that will be responsive to the interests of the people." What issue could the people possibly be more interested in right now?

This is nonsense. I'll bet you a round of your favorite drink that NPR will do NOTHING about this ridiculous policy of censorship at one of it's own stations.

NPR has no intention of sticking up for an employee who was terminated for violating a policy...a policy which violates the very intended purpose of NPR itself.

As far as listeners calling in and complaining?

I can provide you with a ton of examples on how NPR (and their individual stations like EMU) has no accountability to the listener (taxpayer) whatsoever.
