Perhaps for the hapless rank-and-file, but for their leadership I think that's crap. They hide like the rats they are, scurrying in the shadows of caves and sewers, saving their own necks by sending any number of their brothers and sisters to their deaths.
When was the last time anyone saw bin Laden, Mullah Omar, Saddam or Arafat lead a charge?
The Islamists who are calling the shots are in no hurry to partake of God's rewards.
