I have rarely seen a more precise look at the workings of a particular liberal antiwar mind in the current situation. The confusion, the emotion, the terror of facing the truth full on.

People who have been taught since the day they entered school that there are no objective truths, no morals that apply to everyone, and that, above all, nothing can be certain, are, not surprisingly, almost functionally incapable of arriving at a conclusion, regardless of the data, and the pain of this uncertainty shows in every sentence.

The almost instinctive Bush-hatred goes without saying, and is almost not even worth pointing out. It seems to be more out of habit than anything else.

There is a lot of real honesty here, both in analyzing the author's own motives, and a willingness to move on from original positions.
