Of course, you are correct. The average Arab has the same interests as everybody else.
Making a living.
Taking care of his/her family.
Having some leisure time.
Living under some reasonable law and order.
The problems is that the Arab lunatics have hijacked Arab society and made it into a madhouse. They torment and threaten anybody who disagrees with them. If these fanatical bozos were put down, as Saddam was, the ordinary Arab would be has happy as a clam.
