It refers to spending. Our spending is in line with many others in terms of GDP. I don't dispute that we have a military of surpassing strength or that it may cause negative feelings. I'm simply trying to point out the true source of our strength is our economy which stems from both our capitalistic system and a free and open democratic society. Anyone wishing to catch us needs to emulate us or come up with a better economic and governmental system. Spending on military alone won't do it. Adopting noncompetitive socialistic systems, noncompetitive crony capitalism systems, or fraudulent capitalistic systems will not do it.
