While I still consider tax cuts irresponsible prior to reducing the national debt, the current deficits are far higher than the tax cuts and can not be blamed primarily on the tax cuts.

You didn't give the data needed to determine whether the cuts are primarily due to spending or reduction in actual revenues. You are correct about the tax cut absolute values being little effected, but a 10% reduction on 2 trillion dollars in revenue can cause a big swing in deficit if spending is not cut. We need real revenue numbers to do an objective evaluation. I think spending is the main issue assuming revenues remained proportional to GDP excluding the planned tax cuts, but again we need to be careful to differentiate between generally supported spending increases on defense related issues and pork. Expenses also increased for unemployment due to the economic slowdown.
