His stance copuld be selfish or it could be moral, but a conflict of interest should always raise flags of caution. No matter what it shows charges of war for oil from France or the Canadian government are hypocritical. It's just a better soundbite than "no war so we can keep our olil contracts while Saddam keeps on killing".
