We destroyed his base of operations in Afghanistan and captured many of his top aides.
He's trying to operate on the Run and had many plans foiled.
He has lost a potential supplier of WMD.
He has forced the US to demonstrate it's military might is even greater than it was in GW2.
He has forced the US to demonstrate its willingness to protect itself even in the face of US casualties as opposed to the weak face projected by Carter and Clinton.
Both of these make his potential allies extremely nervous and more wary of helping him.
We are leaving Saudi Arabia on our terms after eliminating the reason for our being there and dealing a major blow to OBL. It would be stupid to stay in SA with no purpose except to tell the Arab street up yours. We will remain in areas where our presence is desired by the public as well as the leadership in amounts appropriate to the current risk level. Turkey and SA will just have to deal with a lot fewer US dollars spent in their countries.
Pakistan has again demonstrated why the "Why not attack Pakistan approach" frequently mentioned by you and others is so ridiculous. They have arrested yet another Al-queda leader.
The US is not out to conquer the world and demand absolute allegiance as many in Europe seem to think. Your suggestions make no sense except in that context. We are simply dealing with the problem as best we can using the policing abilities of other countries and our military as a last resort when there is no cooperation AND great risk.

Mark
