The WMD's, or lack of same, will not win any elections. I just heard a newscast that said none other than Sen. Daschle has agreed that the war was justified.
"In 21 days, we eliminated somebody who for 20 years has repressed and tortured his own people and posed a serious security risk," Daschle said.
"A failure to find weapons of mass destruction will damage the credibility of the United States and the Bush administration in the eyes of the international community in a very severe way," Johnson said. "Some in the Bush administration ... may not care, but I do think that the credibility of our military and foreign policy will be damaged if it turns out that the very justification for the war is not uncovered."
But all three agreed that removing Saddam from power was worth the effort.
We are all interested in this subject but it carries no political capital. Make what you will of the so called international credibility issue but forgetaboutit influencing US voters.
