Gambling is generally considered to be a vice, and in the amounts he has gambled it certainly should be subject for questioning in the context of Bennet's career of moralising.
To use his gambling in private on his own time with his own money to somehow rewrite the history of the former President screwing around on the job and in the office and the committing perjury is something that any reasonable person will see through and reject.
