Tom, how hard would it be to imagine fairly realistic scenarios wherein all of your "bullcrap" happened?

If Saddam had indeed had nukes, a couple of small detonations when US troops were most concentrated could have resulted in those American and Iraqi deaths. Oil wells could easily have been set ablaze (I personally think that Saddam either saw no strategic advantage in this, or else thought he was going to be victorious and wanted to preserve the resources). With a different, and plausible, change in Iraqi strategy and tactics, and motivation, the battle for Baghdad could easily have been at least a semi-quagmire. I don't think it was just good planning on the part of the US millitary that this didn't happen.

As far as "Israel at war, terrorism in America, Arabs attacking from all corners" - well, number 3 is happening, and the fat lady hasn't sung yet. Are you saying these things are impossible?

Think about how good the US intelligence was at predicting huge WMD caches.
