There are Democrats signing those petitions too. I have no idea why, but it's worth noting that a competent Democrat could easily win a recall election. Maybe some Democrats think it's worth throwing Davis to the wolves to get a more popular Democratic administration in there, and decrease Bush's chances of carrying California in 2004. Hey, remember Torricelli.
