We are continuing to fight terrorism. No one said it was going to be easy. And there is also a possiblity that when we finally succeed, we will go beyond the point of fighting terrorism- but that wouldn't a problem for, I would say, at at least year from now.
One guess of what's happenning now, is what I would describe as "retribution" for States who have publically announced their support for this fight. This result is exactly the kind of thing these states had feared, and therefore keep fairly quiet in their support. So these countries are now facing the music, but the music will soon be ended, and they should not and are not shirking from what must be done- standing up to these murderous thugs. It's the right and honorable thing to do. Weaseling on this issue won't be profitable.
This retribution dealt by OBL is a sign of weakness- they are dying. But some will remain to live on in a small way in various places in the world and are probably making plans for this type of cowardly retirement (probably a upswing in thugs getting plastic surgery)- but first these leaders have got to get rid of their peon "zealots", else these nuts might later decide to come after them. These leaders are simply thugs- enlightenment isn't in their cards. They probably will retire in France- maybe the most desperate will rob a few banks.
Despite this I do think there are still some cells which are unscathed and still eager to kill lots of people. We will hopefully find these guys before they act.
