God!? So now I am supposed to prove a modal argument wrapped up WITH a negative hypotheis? Cool, Didn't know you thought so highly of me, Tom. I let you know right after I submit to Notices of The AMS and request my Fields Medal... Hell, they'll have to make a damn Nobel for Mathematics after I do that. Semantics will never be the same!
Do you have the slightest evidence that worse would have happened if we had not invaded Iraq?
Tell you what, lets just go talk about Flying Saucers and Yetis... At least there we have (lousy) physical evidence to yap about there. Throw a few gods in, and we'll land right on the level most of the American Populace is reasoning on now.
Seems like to me we struck out at the smallest little pathetic lippy pissant around to pove to ourselves that we still had "balls" in the post 9/11 world. Feel more manly? The size of your cojones is proportional to the number of dead Iraqis?
Afghanistan was everything we wanted Iraq to be, but was not....
Go america!!!
Tom:
"How many bombing attacks did al-Quaeda carry out before we attacked Afghanistan or Iraq?"
Hmmm, seems like they have had a lot SINCE we have attacked Iraq... Are you providing support to my hypothesis that the war in Iraq was irrelevant to the Al-Qaeda war? Attacks before Iraq <= Attacks since Iraq?
Tom
"I notice that people here didn't have much to say about the killing fields being dug up in Iraq, except to blame the first Bush for not removing Saddam from power by military force. "
Well, I never blamed Bush I For the killing field, and I have not even written about the killing field. So our war wasn't about self-defense and fighting terrorism? Now... after-the-fact? Does this concede my suggestion that Iraq was irrelevant in fighting Al-Qaeda? Wow. I just went from confused to just plain befuddled.
You have gone, however, over the course of our discussions about this war, from a rational well-read person who based his actions off of sound info to a faith-inspired prattle-trap mouthpiece for Bush and the right.... Lapping up the misinformation like milk from a saucer... Introduce a conflict between fact and faith in your political worldview, and PRESTO! its OldFaithful Brosz!!! Spewing noise left and right!!
Come back down to earth and smell the lies you were fed...
Ansar Al Islam: False
MKO: False
Salman Pak: False
Terrorist Connections in Iraq in general: False
WMD: False
Tom:
"except to blame the first Bush for not removing Saddam from power by military force, which I have to admit still puzzles me. "
Umm, Okay, what puzzles you and who blames Bush I. You? Me? This makes no sense.
Just breathe deeply, Tom... It will be okay... Youre not the first person to be mislead by the government he elected/trusted/supported... It'll be okay...
