Voted a few hours ago.
Dewinter's party used to be (and still is) anti french speaking or any minority in Flanders, because he's flemish first and forget the rest. He's stroking the jewish community because he's against the muslim immigrants. I remember a program the VB issued a few years ago: basically, women had to stay home and take care of children while the men went to work.
OTOH, there are muslim women who seek the vote of citizens; muslims in general (even the first generation) speak better flemish than other minorities (even myself) and are thus better integrated than even jews who have lived in Antwerp for centuries but stick to their own community.
It's varied, of course. Some Muslims won't want to get integrated , but they are not the majority.
Well, it's true the votes for Dewinter will be compared to those for Jaja's.
For the Blok, mass immigration means more Algerians or Moroccans who speak French and gravitate into the "enemy" camp.
Now, I know for a fact and for living here, that moderate non-religious jews speak french among themselves, like I do. That's why the VB's support towards the jewish community is very suspicious. They will never accept hearing people speaking french in Antwerp, even among themselves.
Needless to say, i din't vote for the VB nor for Jaja.
I've heard my flemish colleagues talk about the VB. their electorate is composed of people who are self withdrawn, don't accept change, have little self-confidence.
