A few months ago, I got a letter from somebody representing a Vietnamese insured who had just moved from one town to another. The letter suggested that my first letter to the client had been insulting, which surprised me greatly. I showed my initial letter to colleagues and everyone thought it was perfectly polite and neutral.
So, my next letter had to be even more polite.
Yes, cultural differences show up sometimes in unexpected ways.
