"Bigotry" isn't the word I'd use to describe what many liberals, especially politicians, think about Republicans. I think simple "lying" would be more accurate.

You posted elsewhere that Republicans are no more anxious to kill Social Security than Democrats. Yet Democrats harp endlessly on the idea that Republicans would destroy Social Security and push the elderly out on ice floes given the slightest chance. Bigotry? No. Lying? Yes. And that's just a single issue.

According to many liberals, Republicans want to impose theocracy, destroy the poor, are warmongers, have no charitable impulses, and are generally rotten human beings.

None of this stands up to close examination.
