Hi Marcia,
"Do not do unto others what you don't want others to do unto you".

I'm convinced that if we don't interfere militarily with other countries, they won't interfere militarily with us. (There is no reason for Bulgaria to invade the Samoa Islands).
But, OTOH, if a country wants to play a worldwide gendarme role, telling others what's good and especially what's not good, then we're far from safe.
