Just so happens I have 5 Rhode Island Red chicks in a box on my desk.
It's a non-flying circus. I'll throw in a piece of bread and rather than eat it, they'll play "smear the queer"* for ten minutes and then fall asleep in their tracks. I had chickens 10 years ago and have finally gotten around to making a place for them here. They make great pets and the eggs are simply much better than you can buy at the store.
Tomorrow I'm going down to Auburn to watch my brother test fly an RAF gyroplane. They seem to be well built and affordable. Good STOL capabilities and the mast folds down so the overall ht. is 6'- easily put on trailer. The only draw back I can see is an 80 mph cruise.
*(Sorry, I'd don't know any other name for it... rugby maybe?.)
