I don't know as I'd call it a "valiant experiment" so much as a "fire drill". If the server hadn't crashed, we'd still be sedately testing the new interface on test boards and the bugs wouldn't be a matter of life or death.
Like Frank, I don't have any trouble using Mozilla. It's interesting that my version is a couple of weeks older than yours, yet Frank's running the very same version as you with no trouble. In his case, though, he's using Windows XP and you're using Windows 98. I'm running Windows 2000, which is much like XP. Is the difference in operating systems significant? Beats hell outta me. One thing that's frustrating about Mozilla is the way they release a new version every couple of weeks, leaving me constantly wondering if they've broken something that used to work.
I'm working on a major revision of the interface, something I can't upload piecemeal--I'm going to have to upload an entire new site and bring down the server for a few minutes to switch over. I'm paying attention to the Mozilla problem, and the new design may work better for you.
In the meantime, you might try using the plain HTML version of Space, at http://www.habitablezone.com/space/index-static.asp.
