While imperfect because it pretends to speak for all Americans, it's still a fairly good intro to Living With America. In the past, you've had a hard time understanding why we let a little thing like our Constitution get in the way of treaties that would give our rights to a bunch of international bureaucrats. Perhaps the article will help you understand why that just won't happen.
As for the Press, government owned media outlets like the BBC and PBS/NPR are just as biased as any privately owned outlet, they just get a free pass by depending on taxpayers instead of advertisers to pay their bills. They are unaccountable to the public and marketplace. That's why government owned outlets almost always reflect a "big government good, private enterprise bad" philosophy.
