Bzzz... Does not compute...

Your questions have no answer, not in that we don't know, but we CAN'T know. Space and time as we know them were created in the Big Bang, and if there was anything before then, or is something now outside of the 4, or 10, or 22 dimensions of space time, we appear to have no means of ever seeing, detecting, understanding, or even thinking about it.

Imagine a two-dimensional world with little cut-out shapes on it. Imagine that these are alive. They live their two dimesional lives on their Flatland. Now you step in and pick up one of these creatures with a pair of 3-D tweezers and lift it over a 2-D wall an pop it inside a closed box. How will it understand what happened. it can't see or comprehend the third dimension.

How might these creatures comprehend that their flat world was actually the (locally flat) surface of a sphere and that if you travelled far enough you would come back where you started? ANd what if their world was twisted into a Mobious Strip?

It's good to think about these things, but don't strain your brain expecting an answer to pop out!
