The enthusiastic economic projections of the Republicans have little more objective basis in reality than any others. My statement was for all such long-term projections, regardless of what they say or which party is basing policy on them. All of them rely on an assumption of current trends continuing without change, and almost all of them rely on static analysis, i.e. a tax cut of $300 billion over ten years will result in exactly $300 billion less being collected as revenue. All past experience shows this is not true.
The basis for supporting tax cuts is not that it will "project" out one way or another. It is that the money will do more for the economy in the private sector than flushed down whatever favorite rathole Byrd has in mind for this week. And if the economy grows, so will overall revenues.
