Well Tom, some of us don't like the price, and the headaches when the drivers get fubared. And most of us don't need the speed as badly as you do, we aren't as demanding of CPU cycles. Personally I want space, lots of space, gigabytes of it, terrabytes, yeah, thats it more memory...... Oh, excuse me where was I.

I saw a 100 GIG IDE Ultra DMA drive for $99.95 a few days ago. I spent exactly 258 bucks for the first Hard Drive I bought new. It was 750 MEG!

Moore's law Tom, Moore's law.

In a couple of years this discussion will be moot anyway, the next generation is coming, and from the rumors I hear, they will be some serious kickass machines. I am wondering a lot exactly what they'll be like. The PC and the MAC are based on 24 year old designs at heart.

I have been wondering when some smart lab rat will finally figure out how to make solid state Hard Drive equivilents economicly. When that happens a quantum leap forward will have been made in personal computing.

Another thing, I listened to an interview with a chip developer for Intel, he was talking about the fact wee'd just about reached the physical limit to making components on an IC CPU, they have gotten so small that if they reduce the size much more Quantum Effects take over.

Ahh the wonders of technology, and the headaches when it gets Snafued.
Hell with it, I think I'll go fishing for a while.
