The embargo prevents American meds from going to Cuba.
It does not permit other nations from doing the same.
The Cubans are short medicine for exactly the same reason the Iraqis were short medicine: The dictator completely controlling the country being vicitmized by his oppressive rule.
As to the Patriot Act, it has been challenged many times and the Courts have in fact sustained it every time.
The Act does not cut out the heart of the civil liberties of this countries. It simply asks people like librarians to turn over records of what suspected enemy cmobatants aginst this country are doing. Librarians as 'led' by the ALA have decided that they in their positions as librarians, should be the ones to decide who gets to decide what is in the best interests of this country.
