FDR and Lincoln, arguably two of the best Presidents we ever had used their power much more ruthlessly and extensively than is contmeplated in even the most aggresive applications of the Patriot Act.
We will be through this just fine.
The naivete of allowing the enemy to have safe haven to plan attacks is sad, however.
