Why not send a few disguised Iraqi who are extremely motivated to remove the dictator and do the job ?
Why not do it discretely, by surprise?!
There would be no need to occupy the country and it would have cost far far less.

No, instead an army (with its huge inertia) was sent.

Now, the soldiers are getting ambushed, in a country which they don"t understand the language nor the history nor the culture of.
It's getting hotter and hotter under their helmets.
Do the soldiers get out in contact with the population, with their helmets off?
Do the US authorities delegate enough to the Iraqis?
Meanwhile, Islamic fundamentalism is getting its way into power. If it's prevented, it's more intereference and not the promised democracy.
Where's the electricity, where's the arrested Saddam aide? Why can't he be shown on TV and proove to the Iraqis he's no threat anymore (some are wondering if the story is even true, because of that).
The US has got to win their trust.
And also, why is the US media more intimidated than the UK's on this matter?
