I happen to be on my brother's computer looking at the Zone, and ran into the same problem!

Here's the deal: He's running ZoneAlarm (which seems to find our Zone more than a little alarming). I tracked it down within ZoneAlarm through the Privacy tab, Cookie Control section; click the Custom button. In the dialog box that comes up, in the third group of settings, is one labelled "remove private header information". If it's checked, you won't be able to post on the HabitableZone; so uncheck it. BTW, this has nothing to do with cookies, and whether this information is really "private" rather than simply technical is debatable...but whatever, this fixes the problem, as witnessed by the fact that I am at this very moment posting.

Your friend might not be using ZoneAlarm, but I'd suspect some similar privacy or security software is doing something similar. If it's not ZoneAlarm, see if you can interpolate in the other software.
